Hinduism has no main founder or leader. Their sacred texts are called the Vedas, collections of hymns, incantations, and rituals written by different people between 1500 and 900 BC. Hindu gods are nature gods, and people make sacrifices to gain favors from them. They believe that behind the visible experiences of this world, there is one ultimate reality, called brahma. Man needs to realize that he also is brahma—that his soul is really one with the soul of the universe. According to Hinduism, man’s actions in this life accumulate either good or bad "karma," which determines how one is reincarnated in the next life.
