In the following mini lessons of "Additional Basic Information" we will be summarizing the key events in the life of Jesus. We will first look at key events in His childhood, then key events in His public ministry.
There is disagreement about how to harmonize the details of the four gospels to make a chronology of the life of Jesus.
However, many scholars agree that the Gospel of John indicates that three Passover Feasts occurred during Jesus' public ministry (See John 2:13, 6:4, and 12:1.) Some suggest that a fourth Passover is mentioned in John 5:1, but it just says there was a "feast of the Jews," and does not mention the name "Passover."
These three Passovers, observed in Spring, give us a framework for a chronology of the public ministry of Christ.
