CALVIN'S VIEW OF THE USE OF THE OT LAW TODAY
There are two extreme positions regarding the use of the Old Testament law in our age. One view says that the Old Testament law was only for the Jews before the time of Christ, and that it is no longer applicable for us today. On the other extreme we find the view that all the Old Testament law is applicable for us today, just as it was for the Jews before Christ.
Biblical evidence shows that neither of them is correct. On the one hand, we cannot disregard the laws of the Old Testament.
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work (2 Timothy 3:16).
QUESTION:
Which extreme position regarding the use of the O.T. law is refuted by 2 Timothy 3:16?
